Shiatsu, the art of both a well-being, preventive and therapeutic massage
Shiatsu is a therapeutic manual art practiced in Asia for over 2000 years, which is based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
It is therefore a holistic approach connecting body, soul and spirit.
In Japanese, "Shiatsu" means "finger pressure", but other parts of the body can be used, such as the elbows, knees or forearms. For your viewing pleasure, I incorporate a lot of gentle stretching, which contributes to liberating relaxation and deep and prolonged well-being.
An interview is carried out beforehand to define together the aim of your treatment.
How does shiatsu work?
Shiatsu can be practiced on the floor, on a futon, on a massage table, or on an ergonomic chair, depending on your possibility, I adapt to your situation.
The receiver remains dressed during the session.
Following a calm and regular rhythm, I will then apply pressure on specific points of the body, corresponding to acupuncture points or meridian paths, which will loosen your tensions or tone up certain areas that require it.
It is an empathetic, subtle, heart-to-heart feeling of the energy flowing through you and asking to be either invigorated or dispersed, thanks to pressures that are always supportive and benevolent.
Also, the pressures can be more or less supported depending on the assessment carried out and your need.
More depth and slowness in the pressure (Yin) or more subtle and rhythmic (Yang).
These pressures are achieved with the thumbs, fingers, forearms, elbows or knees.
Other actions can be practiced: stretching and joint mobilizations.
All of these interventions on your body aim to release muscle tension, relax the joints and remove energy blockages that hinder the optimal functioning of the body.
It is also a question of better perceiving what is playing in us in terms of emotions, which could fuel pain or tension, the better to get rid of it, in a gentle and permanent way.
Shiatsu helps to promote letting go to contribute to personal development.

Where does Shiatsu come from?
Along with Tuina, Thai or Ayurvedic massage, Shiatsu is part of manual health practices that have their deep roots in ancient India and have developed in China over the past millennia.
But the precise technique of Shiatsu has been described and circumscribed more recently in Japan, where it is very widely used for therapeutic purposes.
Care is provided in clinics and bathing centers. In 1955, the Japanese Ministry of Health recognized shiatsu as a medicine in its own right.
He defines it as: "A form of manipulation that uses the thumbs and palms of the hands, without any mechanical or other instrument, which applies pressure to human skin, to correct internal malfunction, promote, maintain health and treat specific diseases."
In Europe : Shiatsu is one of the eight complementary approaches cited in resolution A4-0075 / 97 of the European Parliament, voted on May 29, 1997, as "unconventional medicine worthy of interest".
He was recognized in France in 2015, with the RNCP title of “Specialist in Shiatsu” level 3 (European level 5)

Shiatsu is for all people concerned with optimizing a state of good physical, mental and emotional health. Regarding contraindications, the prior interview will determine what actions to avoid.
