The USA discovered JEQUEL in 1989 through " Lutece Gallery " in Carmel, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, a first book on his work was published, two others would follow. A large number of paintings sold in various continents, Japan and China….. have made Jequel an internationally renowned artist.

Christian JEQUEL paints with a knife using his own technique.
The purpose of this technique is to add an additional dimension to the painting, LIFE.
"My goal is to convey life. The scene represented, the characters are not static, the very thick paint is spread with a knife, different spatulas are used. In the Jequel technique of knife painting, we do not manufacture. We do not fact that laying down the paint, the direction of the knife stroke forms the image that one wants to express", explains the master.

Today, the painter Christian Jequel also exhibits his works in Marseille in his magnificent studio of Pierre Ambrogiani who was his friend, to the sound of the most beautiful pages of music and opera.
He opens his workshop to the public for his 50 years of painting, to visitors, associations, amateur painters
